To commemorate the Brooklands Centenary Richard has recently finished this major oil painting. The painting re-creates the scene at the first race meeting on July 6th 1907. The actual race featured is the Byfleet Plate judged a dead-heat between Newton’s Napier and Jarrott’s Lorraine Dietrich. The original framed oil on 1000mm 700mm canvas is currently offered for sale at £2000 ono , signed open-edition prints on A3 sized art card (image size 345mm x 240mm) are available @ £17 + £1.50 P&P. Also a greetings card of the painting has been added to the range.

Some 150 hours work have gone into the painting with many more obtaining the necessary reference material. The complete project has taken six months to complete!
